Manage All Your Passwords Easily in One Place
The one-tap password save and autofill feature on your Android is handy, and works flawlessly with all Google accounts logged in on your phone. With Google Password Manager, you can view, edit, and remove your passwords anytime you want.
Google Password Manager is reliable, feature-rich, and pretty easy to use. It is one of the best free password managers available presently for your Android phone. That said, if you need a password manager with premium features such as VPNs and identity monitoring, you can get one by spending some bucks.
Then, you will see a prompt to verify that it’s you. You need to authenticate yourself using a PIN, Pattern, fingerprint, or whatever screen lock security you have set up on your device.
You can also edit, delete, or copy the password to the clipboard. To edit the password, show the password using the eye icon, then change it
Note: Editing the password in the password manager does not change your password on the website. Use this option only if you previously changed the password on that website and did not update it in the password manager or remember to change the password on the website after you edit it in the password manager.
To copy the password, click the copy icon next to the eye icon. To delete this username and password from the list of saved passwords, click the trash icon above.
Save Passwords on Android
By default, when you login into a site, Chrome will automatically offer to save the login credentials. If you don’t see the prompt to save passwords or you don’t have any passwords saved in the Passwords menu of the Settings, you need to turn on the Saved Passwords. Here’s how you can do that:
Launch the Chrome browser, click the three dots menu button and tap ‘Settings’.
Then, scroll down if you need to and tap the ‘Passwords’ tile.
On the Passwords page, make sure the toggle next to ‘Save passwords’ is turned on.
Export Saved Passwords
If you want to transfer your login passwords to a new account or if you are removing your Google account and want to back up your passwords, you can export the saved passwords to a CSV document. Here’s how you can do that:
Open Chrome Settings and tap the ‘Passwords’ option.
On the Passwords page, tap the three dots menu in the upper right-hand corner.
Then, select the ‘Export passwords…’ option.
First, authenticate yourself using your device’s password, PIN, pattern, etc. Then, tap the ‘Export passwords…’ option again on the prompt that appears.
From the Share sheet, select an option to save and share the exported file. Here, we are choosing Google Drive.
